About the Agriculture Zone

Agriculture is one of the key stages in the development of modern civilization. It is the cultivation of plants and the raising of animals for their use in society; as food, to make drugs, and generally to sustain life.

Today, agriculture provides everything from food to bio-fuels, and any number of other products that we use every day.

In this zone we’ll meet scientists working in and around agriculture; scientists looking at genetically modifying crops to try to improve their qualities, as well as scientists working on new intelligent tractors which can steer themselves.

Agricultural scientists also work at farms, controlling the diseases that might appear and preventing them from spreading to other farms, or helping farmers to choose the best plants to produce the best a certain type of food.

You can find out more about the scientists in this zone, and what they work on by reading their profiles. Click on their names at the top of this page to find out more!
