      Hi Kerib,

Yes, sometimes paperwork can be really interesting! Quite often I will get scientific reports or papers to read and comment on, which can help me learn lots of new things.

Sometimes the paperwork can be quite repetitive, but it is helping fish farmers follow the law and make sure they are treating the animals they are looking after properly 🙂

Paperwork is a necessary evil in science. i much prefer to be doing experiments either in the field or the lab!

As they said, it is a necessary evil. But it is not exclusive to science. The difference is that a lot of it here makes you think ahead on your experiment. After you got sorted out what you want, you’ll just need to follow the plan (ideally, anyway).

      Hi Kerib
Most of my paperwork nowadays is digital work. I try not to use paper unless I really have to.
It’s good to write up your results and make graphs and tables because that’s when you really start to understand what your results mean. And reading about other scientists work is interesting.
Sometimes it can get a bit boring working in the office, especially if its real sunny outside like now 😎

I find writing papers and doing analysis interesting (publishing work), but the general day-to-day administative paperwork is horrid. Luckily there is not too much of it.
